{"id":6433,"date":"2020-04-13T16:53:13","date_gmt":"2020-04-13T16:53:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.anratechnologies.com\/home\/?p=6433"},"modified":"2023-10-02T09:12:39","modified_gmt":"2023-10-02T09:12:39","slug":"anra-selected-for-both-phase-2-faa-utm-pilot-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anratechnologies.com\/home\/2020\/04\/13\/anra-selected-for-both-phase-2-faa-utm-pilot-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"ANRA Selected for both Phase 2 FAA UTM Pilot Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On April 10th 2020, FAA announced the selection <a href=\"https:\/\/maap.ictas.vt.edu\/\">Virginia Tech Mid-Atlantic Aviation Partnership<\/a> in Blacksburg, Va., and <a href=\"https:\/\/nuair.org\/nyuasts\/\">Griffiss International Airport<\/a> in Rome, N.Y., as test site participants for Phase 2 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faa.gov\/uas\/research_development\/traffic_management\/utm_pilot_program\/\">UTM Pilot Program (UPP)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In line with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/115\/plaws\/publ254\/PLAW-115publ254.pdf\">FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018<\/a>, UPP Phase 2 will showcase capabilities and services that support high-density Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) operations, including remote identification (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.anratechnologies.com\/reference\/news\/anra-technologies-demonstrates-drone-remote-id-solutions-using-proposed-standards-in-california-and-switzerland\/\">Remote ID<\/a>) services and public safety operations. Data collected from Phase 2 test activities will help inform a cross-agency Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) Implementation Plan.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;ANRA has played a key role in working on many of these standards and developmental activities leading up to this Phase 2 award and we are excited to have our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anratechnologies.com\/reference\/droneuss-utm-platform\/\">ANRA\u2122 UTM platform<\/a> be a key part of both of the selected projects\u201d, said Brent Klavon, Vice President of Operations at ANRA Technologies<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.anratechnologies.com\/reference\/management\/decentralized-uas-traffic-management-demonstrated-by-anra-technologies-for-faa-utm-pilot-project\/\">UPP Phase 1<\/a> was completed in August 2019 in collaboration with NASA, FAA UAS test sites and their industry partners. Phase 1 tested capabilities such as the exchange of flight intent data among UAS operators.
