{"id":7452,"date":"2023-01-27T21:11:06","date_gmt":"2023-01-27T21:11:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.anratechnologies.com\/home\/?p=7452"},"modified":"2023-10-02T06:47:05","modified_gmt":"2023-10-02T06:47:05","slug":"european-drone-standards-project-supported-by-anra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anratechnologies.com\/home\/2023\/01\/27\/european-drone-standards-project-supported-by-anra\/","title":{"rendered":"European Drone Standards Project Supported by ANRA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ANRA is a key participant in project <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.easa.europa.eu\/en\/research-projects\/shepherd-uas-standards\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SHEPHERD<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a two year research initiative funded by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.easa.europa.eu\/en\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EASA<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) public contract Horizon Europe Project: UAS standard.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Comprised of 9 consortium partners, project SHEPHERD is seeking to build on the work achieved by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aw-drones.eu\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AW-Drones<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and further analyze the standards listed in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.euscg.eu\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EUSCG<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (European UAS Standards Coordination Group) <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/euscg.eu\/rdp\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UAS Rolling Development Plan<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The previously conducted assessment looked at various factors including maturity, coverage, compliance costs &amp; environmental impacts; however SHEPHERD will delve deeper into technical content for evaluating if these standards align with safety regulations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SHEPHERD&#8217;s work methodology introduces a 4-step process for ensuring that standards meet objective requirements &#8211; examining them to determine which ones need assessment, assigning categories according to those needs, consulting independent experts on each standard related requirement and summarizing the overall findings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The full methodology can be viewed on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.easa.europa.eu\/en\/downloads\/137271\/en\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EASA\u2019s website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ANRA is providing the project with valuable expertise in Technical Evaluation, Design &amp; Airworthiness for standards related UTM\/Uspace, Vertiports and Command, Control &amp; Communications. Our team is excited to contribute our knowledge towards this important initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project team is currently working on the assessment of initial standards which will be finalized by February 2023. In March 2023, these results are then set to undergo review from EASA\u2019s experts and external advisors. Subsequently, in April 2024 we anticipate releasing this information for public viewing.
