ANRA Commences European Project for Enabling Drone Services

ANRA Technologies (ANRA) recently participated in the SAFIR-Ready kickoff event, launching a multi-year initiative to enhance healthcare and emergency response services in Europe using drones. The program, supported by the European Commission’s SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking, focuses on enabling ad-hoc drone operations beyond visual line-of-sight through ground automation. ANRA, as a full partner, will serve as a USSP (U-space Service Provider) and CISP (Common Information Service Provider) for operations in Belgium and Estonia, providing U-space and Common Information Services.

The project’s primary goal is to develop advanced U-space services alongside a central command and control center that offers automated functionalities. These advancements aim to facilitate time-critical drone operations in medical and non-medical scenarios. Research efforts will focus on areas such as dynamic capacity management (U3), detect and avoid algorithms (U3), and machine-to-machine communication and decision-making (U4). The project also plans to extend the use cases to non-medical critical missions, including shore-to-ship material transport and infrastructure inspection for railways and electric grids.

The kickoff meeting assembled 34 partners, promoting collaboration and discussion on the SAFIR-Ready research objectives across four European Union countries. ANRA takes pride in being part of this esteemed consortium and is honored to be recognized as a technology leader capable of delivering advanced U-space operations in Europe.
