ANRA Advances NATO-Tested Counter-Drone Technology With Airspace Data for Enhanced Threat Detection

Interoperability testing advances integrated airspace awareness as ANRA invites sensor, public safety and systems integration partners to explore collaboration

WASHINGTON — Oct. 27, 2026 — ANRA Technologies, a leading provider of digital airspace and mission management solutions, today announced continued advancement of its counter-uncrewed aircraft systems (C-UAS) capabilities following participation in NATO Counter-UAS Technical Interoperability Exercises and U.S. Army Driving Innovation in Realistic Training Days (DIRT), a field experimentation initiative that evaluates emerging technologies in realistic military training environments.

As U.S. defense, homeland security and public safety agencies expand investments in drone detection and airspace security, ANRA is advancing its Single Integrated Operating Picture (SIOP) software and Tactical Airspace and C-UAS Operations (TACO) system to help organizations combine drone detection with information about authorized airspace activity.

Both SIOP and TACO have progressed from Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 5 to TRL 7 through development and testing in defense and security environments, including multinational interoperability exercises.

The effort builds on ANRA’s experience in uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) Traffic Management (UTM), including work supporting customers such as Amazon Prime Air and the New York Power Authority. This experience positions the company to work with U.S. organizations seeking to integrate drone detection with operational airspace information.

“The next challenge in drone security is not simply seeing an aircraft; it is understanding who is operating, where they are flying and whether that activity is permitted,” said Amit Ganjoo, Founder and CEO of ANRA Technologies. “Our operational UTM experience, combined with the interoperability demonstrated by SIOP and TACO, provides a foundation for partners to build a more complete airspace picture without being locked into one sensor or one vendor.”

Unlike traditional counter-drone systems that focus primarily on detecting and tracking aircraft, ANRA’s approach combines sensor-based detection data with available UTM information about authorized drone activity, helping security operators assess whether detected aircraft may be associated with legitimate commercial, public safety or government operations. This additional context can support more informed threat assessments and operational decisions.

From sensor data to a common operating picture

SIOP is ANRA’s sensor-agnostic airspace awareness and command-and-control (C2) software. It correlates data from multiple sources, including radar, passive radio frequency (RF) sensors, optical sensors, Remote ID and automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) systems, alongside UTM information such as geozones and flight activity.

The resulting integrated view is designed to help operators identify potential conflicts, understand known airspace activity and flag detections that warrant further investigation.

TACO packages SIOP capabilities into a rugged, modular, portable system designed for rapid deployment in field environments. Housed in a transportable case, the system can be deployed in under 15 minutes and has been tested with up to 10 simultaneously connected sensors and 100 tracked targets. Its flexible architecture also supports fixed-site deployments, allowing operators to integrate counter-drone capabilities with existing infrastructure as operational requirements evolve.

Interoperability demonstrated in defense environments

ANRA has participated in NATO C-UAS Technical Interoperability Exercises since 2023, as well as U.S. Army DIRT Days. These activities have tested integration and information exchange with diverse sensor and C2 systems using SAPIENT (Sensing for Asset Protection with Integrated Electronic Networked Technology), an open architecture and interface standard designed to enable interoperability among sensors and other system components.

SIOP and TACO support SAPIENT-based integration, along with additional industry-standard interfaces, including ASTERIX, and proprietary data interfaces intended to connect a range of sensors and C2 systems.

These exercises provide evidence of technical interoperability in test environments. They do not constitute NATO certification or endorsement of ANRA’s products.

UTM experience adds a critical layer of context

ANRA’s counter-drone capabilities draw on its experience supporting operational UTM services. Approximately one beyond-visual-line-of-sight (BVLOS) flight launches every 10 seconds on ANRA-powered systems and that its technology supports operations at more than two dozen police departments.

Alongside its work supporting customers such as Amazon Prime Air, this experience informs ANRA’s approach to integrating counter-drone awareness with information about legitimate commercial and public safety drone activity.

As drone delivery, Drone as First Responder programs and other BVLOS operations expand, combining planned or authorized flight information with sensor detections can help agencies and infrastructure operators prioritize anomalies rather than treating every detected drone as a threat.

Detection and identification alone do not establish legal authority to mitigate an aircraft. Any response must remain within the legal authorities and operational requirements applicable to the responding organization.

U.S. partnership opportunities

On Oct. 16, 2026, the Federal Emergency Management Agency announced $250 million in funding through its fiscal 2027 Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems Grant Program. The funding opportunity is intended to help states and territories strengthen counter-drone capabilities, creating potential opportunities for eligible agencies and technology partners to develop integrated detection and monitoring solutions.

ANRA is inviting U.S. sensor manufacturers, defense and homeland security integrators, public safety technology companies, critical infrastructure operators and government agencies to explore joint demonstrations, system integrations and teaming opportunities.

Partners can explore integrating SIOP with existing sensor investments or evaluating TACO for field operations, with configurations tailored to applicable legal authorities and operational requirements.
